The Becoming

The Kingdom Within.

The Story, in my words

"The kingdom of God is within you."

This is me creating a piece of art. It wasn't the easiest piece to create because, I was trying to bring onto canvas the visions, I felt God was placing on my heart and in my mind.

Imagine a mathematician who naturally sees numbers and equations. My mind doesn't work like that. Instead, I see sacred geometry, patterns, connections and dimensions. It's difficult to explain because I don't always think in words, I think in images, movement, patterns, shifts and symbols. I often call it my ADHD and autism superpower.

Ironically, maths was never my strongest subject. Show me a page full of numbers and my brain quickly feels overwhelmed. Yet give me a blank canvas and suddenly those same patterns begin to make sense in an entirely different language.

Sometimes I receive so many thoughts, ideas and visions that art becomes the place where I can express them, release them, explore them and gently unpack them. It allows me to transfer what feels intangible onto something I can see, touch and reflect upon from both an inner perspective and a bird's-eye view. After all, "The Kingdom of God is within."

I've never been someone who comfortably fits inside a box, and this piece reflects that perfectly. It explores sacred geometry, limitless possibility and the beautiful mystery of our existence. It asks what it means to journey, to remember and to see beyond what is immediately visible. This is my interpretation of Merkaba-inspired art as it continues to evolve through my own experiences.

At one point I became completely stuck. I could see the geometry clearly in my mind, but translating it accurately onto the canvas was another story. That's when my son, Rishi, came to the rescue. Armed with rulers, patience and plenty of curiosity, he helped me measure lines, experiment with shapes and search around the house for objects that were exactly the right size to draw around. It became less about getting everything perfect and more about sharing the creative process together.

Meanwhile, my daughter Sienna was busy painting a beautiful gold dragon of her own. In her own way, she was helping Mummy too. Those are some of my favourite memories, not just creating the artwork itself, but creating alongside my children. Our oak dining table became a place of imagination, laughter, conversation and love, where everyone was free to make something uniquely their own.

And as for me, I'll just be over here, quietly rebuilding God's Kingdom, one geometric line, one layer of gold, and one slightly chaotic, paint-covered day at a time.

The Becoming, the first marks
Every painting begins with a single line. This piece started not with paint, but with a pencil, a ruler and an idea. I spent time exploring dimensions, patterns and sacred geometry, allowing the vision to reveal itself slowly rather than forcing it into existence. Each measured line became the foundation for everything that followed. This artwork explores the symbolism of the Merkaba, prayer, healing, love, light and the timeless journey of the soul. It is inspired by ideas of remembrance, the limitless potential within each of us, and the connection between heaven and earth. As the layers grew, so did the story. Paint, texture, thread and light gradually transformed the original sketch into something far greater than I could have planned. Every layer was created with intention, prayer and love. One of the most special parts of creating this artwork was that my children joined me at the table, making their own creations alongside mine. Our oak dining table became more than a place to eat, it became a place of imagination, conversation, learning and togetherness.

Warriors, Come Out to Play
As the structure emerged, I began breathing life into it with layers of colour and gold, allowing the geometry to shine as light moved across the surface. Throughout its creation, one song kept playing and these lyrics stood out. "Warriors, Come Out to Play." It became more than background music. It became part of the heartbeat of this piece. I have a warrior's heart. Not because life has been easy, but because it hasn't. There have been seasons of feeling like the black sheep, of walking lonely paths, of questioning, searching and beginning again. Yet it was through those very seasons that I found something greater than myself. I found God. Or perhaps, more truthfully, I discovered He had been walking beside me all along. This painting is a reflection of that journey. It is about moving through darkness without losing sight of the Light. It is about remembering who we are beneath the noise of the world. It is about courage, faith, healing, love and the quiet transformation that happens when we allow ourselves to keep becoming.

Colour, sacred geometry, another dimension
Let's begin by adding colour, sacred geometry and another dimension. This artwork invites you into a journey of symbols, patterns, hidden details and quiet discoveries. As light moves across the canvas, new layers reveal themselves, offering moments of reflection that are unique to each person who spends time with it. No two people will experience this piece in the same way. This painting also holds one of my most treasured memories. The foundations of this piece were drawn on my son Rishi's birthday. Long before the paint, there was simply a pencil, a ruler, an eraser and countless geometric lines. Rishi sat beside me, helping with the early patterns and measurements, unknowingly becoming part of the artwork itself. His name, Rishi, is a Sanskrit word often translated as "seer" or "sage." As I stepped back and looked at the pencil drawing from a different angle, I lay down beside the canvas. In that moment, it was as though the entire design came alive. The geometry shifted, the dimensions opened, and I suddenly saw what the piece was becoming. It wasn't planned. It arrived like an epiphany.

A candle, a golden dragon, the light dances
"It's not just paint that goes into this piece but, prayers, channellings and also, a place to learn with God too." The kids are in bed and, I come back to add more layers and dimensions to this painting. A single candle is lit, a golden dragon and then, something beautiful begins to happen. The gentle flame catches the gold of the Merkaba, reflecting light across the canvas. The painting is no longer simply viewed, it begins to dance with the light. As the flame moves, new details quietly reveal themselves, reminding us that light has a way of showing us what darkness cannot. For me, the Merkaba is a symbol of the journey between heaven and earth, the meeting place of the human spirit and the Divine. It reminds me that God is always present, gently drawing us back to love, truth and remembrance. My fingerprint is hidden within the original as a quiet reminder that human hands created this work with love, while every breath given to those hands comes from God.
