The Weaver
This piece of art was born from a deeply personal journey between God and me.
There was a season where it felt as though my whole world was falling apart. My health had changed, and with it, so had my senses. I was rapidly losing weight. My knee was injured. Sciatica would come and go, leaving me in pain. I felt battered, both inside and out.
Yet, in the middle of all that uncertainty, God whispered something unexpected.
"We are going to build a Kingdom."
He told me not to worry. He told me He would provide everything I needed. My only task was to trust Him. So, I did.
Every layer beneath this painting carries part of that journey. Before the gold was ever laid upon the canvas, there were countless other layers beneath it, layers of uncertainty, surrender, hope, and healing.
Every thread was woven with prayer. Every knot was tied with intention. Every tear became part of the process.
As the piece evolved, I replaced the original thread with natural twine. It felt more honest. More humble. It brought me closer to Christ, reminding me of simple things: wood, rope, earth, and hands that build.
"We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

The Thread.
Every journey begins with a single thread. Sometimes God starts with the smallest things to build something eternal. Before the layers, colour and cross, there was only faith.
God didn't ask me to see the whole picture. He simply placed a thread in my hands and asked me to trust Him.
Nestled beneath the tree, surrounded by cushions and candlelight, this has become my prayer corner, a place where I sit with God.
It is here that I pray over every canvas. Sometimes I pray before I paint, while I paint and long after the paint has dried.
Every artwork spends time resting here. It isn't about rushing to finish a piece but allowing it to unfold.

Where it all happens.
Every piece begins here. This little table is my Zen Den, a place where I create, pray, listen and simply be.
Standing beside me is a single rose, a gentle reminder that beauty can bloom through every season. My paintbrushes patiently wait for the next layer to reveal itself.
A sand timer sits nearby, gently reminding me that some things cannot be rushed. God's timing has taught me more than I could ever learn by trying to hurry the process.
A candle burns softly, symbolising Christ, the Light of the World, and a glass of water reminds me of both physical nourishment and the living water that sustains the soul.
Together, they represent the elements that ground me as I create: earth, water, fire and air.

Layers of reflection.
The mirrored mosaic cross catches and reflects the light. It doesn't keep the light for itself. It shares it.
The mirrors also invite something else. As you stand before the cross, you don't just look at it, instead you become part of it. You see yourself reflected within it.
For me, it's a reminder that the Kingdom of God isn't somewhere far away for us to search for, it begins within us.
"In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.", Matthew 5:16

The thread woven.
The twine isn't perfectly straight. It twists, bends, overlaps, knots and loops. A bit like my walk with God, really.
It's rarely a straight line, although I'm fairly sure God has looked down at me a few times and lovingly thought, "She's wandered off again."
Yet despite every twist, the thread still reaches from the bottom of the cross to the very top. It never loses its direction.
Fine strands of gold thread stretch across the canvas. Some are obvious. Others are almost hidden. They remind me that not every connection in life can be seen, yet every act of love, every prayer and every kindness creates a ripple far beyond what we may ever know.
Nothing is wasted.
"Every thread holds a prayer. Every action creates a ripple."

The Doodle
Most people throw doodles away.
I created a body of work from one page.
This sketch was drawn at my best friend's house on my birthday. I even left the screenshot around it on purpose. The raw, unfiltered moments matter to me. They're part of my story and part of my journey with God.
I didn't copy the doodle. I translated it. Looking back, I can now see the threads woven throughout: the braided twine, the heart at the base, the hessian triangle, the movement from the earth towards the light, even the flow of energy rising through the centre.
They were all there, long before I realised what they would become.
Was it a coincidence? Or perhaps, a seed.
